The spectacular porte-cochere is flanked by 2 beautiful marble or alabaster statues and the building boasts 8 levels appx 19,500 sq ft, a mansard roof, a roof garden, two elevators, a brass-and-wrought-iron staircase and and 11 marble wood burning fireplaces, amongst many other luxurious details, too overwhelming to mention here..
Mr. Sapir had planned to showcase his collection of European ivory carvings & statues here after purchase -I don't know if he ever did.
From an broker's point of view it interesting the the house which was listed at $50 million when last listed but sold for $40 million in 2006 is now listed for $50 million AND is listed by the same BHS agents Paula Del Nunzio & Shirley A. Muller who had listed it previously!
